Cosentino Winery, founded in 1980 by the spirit and innovation of creativity, is committed to producing only the best wines possible from California's finest vineyards. Cosentino's wines are still regarded as among the best in the world because these ideals remain true.

Cosentino Winery produced its first vintage in 1981, under the names of Crystal Valley Cellars and Cosentino Wine Company. Cosentino's first wines were produced in the early 80s using grapes from the top growers from California's North Coast, including Napa and Sonoma counties, Mendocino County, Lake and Sacramento Counties, and Mendocino.

Cosentino Winery is widely recognized for its role in developing new blends and varietals in California's wine industry. Cosentino Winery has been widely credited for the development of California Meritage, a Bordeaux-inspired blend, which is now a standard throughout the Napa Valley. Cosentino released "The Poet", a 1986 vintage, in 1989. It was America's first Meritage wine. Over 200 wineries produce Meritage-style wines today.
